I saw this during a trip to London in. It’s a San Francisco style sourdough from based in Hampstead. The starter for this dough is made from yogurt, milk and flour.
What I love about Waitrose is that they see somebody making a quality local product and they put it on their shelves. We won’t see this in the Shire, but for the cool kids in London, it’s there with various other loaves from Gails Bakery.
Straight from the shop, it was quite chewy and pretty subtle as a sourdough. However, getting home and baking it for 10min, the taste was far better and the crust was scrummy!
