A pretty bleak looking film, all the characters are caked in mud, it’s raining all the time and there’s virtually no colour, except for the blood. It struck me that there was more horror in the portrayal of the trenches and the war than in the story itself. As has been said on Letterboxd, war and horror do flow together well and the cast does a good job of maintaining the suspense and paranoia.
